Individual Membership

Whether you are a CEO, a business owner or an executive, SIM membership puts you in the know on the latest management trends and business practices; connects you with a vast network of professionals and affords you opportunities to boost your influence and success.


Honorary Fellows

Persons who have distinguished themselves in the field of management or made significant contributions to the growth and development of the Institute may be invited by the Governing Council to be Honorary Fellows and bestowed such membership on an honorary basis.


Persons who hold general management responsibility at board or at chief executive level of such scope and duration as may be approved by the Governing Council may apply for membership as Fellows.

Ordinary Members

Persons who are owners / proprietors or hold positions at board / departmental / divisional / branch / executive levels with appropriate professional and/or academic qualifications as may be approved by the Governing Council may apply for membership as Ordinary Members.

Associate Members

Persons who are actively engaged in industry, commerce or a public organisation and have completed a course approved by the Governing Council (whether on a part-time or full-time basis) or are suitably recommended for membership as determined by the Governing Council may apply for membership as Associate Members.

Student Members

Persons who have completed secondary education and are attending a course in business, management or any other subject approved by the Governing Council (whether on a part-time or full-time basis) may apply for membership as Student Members.

Silver Members

Persons who are at least 60 years of age, retired from full-time business activity and occupation and have been a member of the Institute for at least 10 years may apply for membership as Silver Members.

Visiting Members

Persons visiting Singapore to conduct research, academic or business activities to the benefits of the Institute for any period not exceeding 12 months may apply for membership as Visiting Members.

Please note that all applications for SIM Membership are subject to approval. You will be notified of the category of membership assigned to you upon approval.

*Membership expiry is fixed at 31 December of each year. Members admitted during November will pay the pro-rated annual subscription for the current year and the annual subscription for the following year.

Members admitted during December will pay the annual subscription for the following year. The subscription payable on admission is pro-rated according to the month the application is approved.

Goods and Service Tax (GST)

Entrance fee, annual subscription and pro-rated annual subscription are inclusive of 7% Goods and Services Tax.

Personal Data Protection Policy

  1. The SIM Group
    1.1 Members of The SIM Group comprise Singapore Institute of Management (Membership and Professional Development), Singapore Institute of Management Pte. Ltd. (SIM Global Education or SIM GE) and SIM University (collectively and/or individually referred to as "SIM").
  2. Notification
    2.1 In the course of your dealings with SIM, SIM may be required to collect, use and/or disclose personal data about you. This may arise when you register, participate or attend as a member, student, course, seminar or workshop participant, or in the course of SIM’s provision of services to you.
    2.2 Personal data means data, whether true or not, about an individual who can be identified from that data; or from that data and other information to which an organisation has or is likely to have access. Personal data may include personal information such as (but are not limited to) name, NRIC or passport number, age, credit card number, residential address, mobile or residential telephone number, personal email address, photograph or video image of an individual.
    2.3 In view of the regime of the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 coming into effect on 2 July 2014, SIM is seeking your acknowledgement of and agreement to the terms and conditions in relation to collection, use and disclosure of personal data, as set out in this Policy.
  3. Purpose Limitation
    3.1 The amount and the type of personal data collected from you:-
    1. will be limited to that which is necessary to fulfill the purposes identified;
    2. will be used, handled and processed by SIM reasonably, fairly and lawfully; and
    3. will be retained for such period to fulfill the purposes identified or as is necessary for legal or business purposes.
  4. Purpose
    4.1 Your personal data may be collected, used or disclosed by or on behalf of SIM for thefollowing purposes in connection with the processing of your queries in respect of events, programme briefings, programmes, SIM membership and/or services provided by SIM:-
    1. to process and/or attend to your query relating to educational services, professional development, corporate training services, programmes offered by SIM and/or other related or ancillary services provided by SIM;
    2. to respond to your query and provide you with the relevant information relating to educational services, professional development, corporate training services, programmes offered by SIM and/or other related or ancillary services provided by SIM;
    3. to provide you with relevant information relating to the subject matter and/or areas of interests indicated in your query;
    4. to send you SIM’s marketing surveys, feedback and evaluation forms in connection with your SIM experience.
    4.2 During the course of your participation or attendance at events, functions or programme briefings organised or held by SIM, photograph(s) or video image(s) of you may be taken or recorded for news and publicity purposes relating to the legitimate interests of SIM. By participating in or attending the same, you agree for SIM to collect, use, reproduce, publish, adapt, apply or otherwise deal with the same in any medium and format (whether in their present, adapted or modified form) for the said purposes.
    4.3 SIM may receive and record information on our servers from your browser (including but not limited to your IP address, cookie information) when you browse or search on SIM websites. Although browser sessions may be tracked, individual users will remain anonymous.
  5. Protection and Security
    5.1 SIM respects and understands the importance of protection of your personal data.
    5.2 SIM deploys appropriate security arrangements and technological measures to safeguard and protect your personal data.
  6. Access, Update and Correction
    6.1 You have the right to request access to, update and/or correct any personal data provided by you and held by SIM.
    6.2 If you wish to access, update and/or correct your personal data or if you have any query in respect of this Policy, please contact:

    6.3 SIM will make the appropriate correction as soon as reasonably practicable, unless it is satisfied on reasonable grounds that the correction should not be made.
  7. Withdrawal of Consent to Receive Marketing Messages
    7.1 Individuals who wish to withdraw the consent given to SIM Membership for the receipt of marketing messages will have to follow the procedures listed:
    1. Download the "Withdrawal of Consent Form – Marketing Communications".
    2. Complete the “Withdrawal of Consent Form – Marketing Communications” fully, accurately and legibly, sign and date.
    3. Send the Completed Withdrawal of Consent Form to SIM Membership via:
      1. Scan a copy of the Completed Withdrawal of Consent Form and email it to membership@sim.edu.sg. To facilitate processing, the subject header of the email is to be entitled "Withdrawal of Consent Form – Marketing Communications"; OR
      2. Post the original Completed Withdrawal of Consent Form – Marketing Communications to SIM Membership at the following address:

    4. Upon the receipt of the Completed Withdrawal of Consent Form – Marketing Communications, SIM Membership will cease to send marketing messages to you through the means as indicated by you 21 working days from the date of receipt of your form.
  8. Updates and Variation
    8.1 SIM reserves the right to update and vary this Policy from time to time as may be necessary. The updated or varied version will be posted on this webpage. Please check this page regularly for any updates or variations.
